NATHALIE MIQUEL
Born in Paris, Nathalie Miquel lives between Paris, Aubrac, and Barcelona. She discovered her passion for the human form at the Met de Penninghen School and the Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs, where she graduated. The nude figure became an enduring focus of her art.
Drawing energy from the rugged landscapes of Aubrac, her family's homeland, Nathalie has dedicated herself fully to her art since 2004, exploring the expression of the human body. Her work, both sensitive and instinctive, quickly gained recognition, with her first exhibition in 2008 at Jean-Paul Perrier’s gallery in Barcelona receiving enthusiastic acclaim.
Nathalie’s approach to sculpture and drawing is characterized by a pursuit of simplicity and essential form. She captures the essence and movement of the human body, striving to reveal the force of a movement, the grace of an attitude, and the sensuality of a form. Her sculptures, crafted in bronze using the lost wax technique, feature mineral patinas in shades of blue and grey, exuding both the strength of stone and the elegance of clay. Her work invites viewers to engage with the pieces from different angles, uncovering the deeper meaning within each curve and counter-curve.
